Did you realize that your wireless ear buds may possibly cause you to develop cancer? Me either. Then again, what doesn't. Often its hard to separate the fiction from reality or at least understand what is hype and was is low risk.

Apparently the World Health Organization is expressing "serious concern" about the potential dangers of Apple Airpods, and wireless ear buds in general. Over 200 scientist from more than 40 countries have signed a petition to the United Nations indicating that they are in agreement that earbuds may pose a cancer risk because of the EMF radio waves emitted when using Bluetooth.

Keep in mind that petition was created back in 2015 but is finding "new legs" due to a recent article by Medium cited a fresh take by one of the signers, a University of Colorado professor who explained his concerns, " My concern for AirPods is that their placement in the ear canal exposes tissues in the head to relatively high levels of radio-frequency radiation,”

Let's keep things in perspective. Do I know if AirPods will give you cancer? No. Will I stop using my wireless ear buds because of the potential cancer risk? No. If things ever become more definitive, I'll be happy to revised this "risk". Until then, I'm going to jam on!

What say you?
