One of the great things about this time of year is the number of country concert announcements we get.

Between November and February, the show announcements come fast and furious.

Sometimes, we even get several in one day.

The latest announcement we get to bring you is the return of Allison Krauss & Union Station to Central Maine.

Allison Krauss will be performing at the Bowl in the Pines Amphitheater at Snow Pond Center for the Arts in Sidney on July 11th, 2026.

Tickets will get on sale Friday, December 12th at 10 AM.

Who is Alison Krauss?

Born in Illinois in 1971, Allison Krauss has been in the music industry for four decades.

Alison Krauss got her start young.  By the time most of us were still figuring out middle school, she was already recording music.

She first showed up on an independent album called Different Strokes in 1986, working with Swamp Weiss, Jim Hoiles, and her brother Viktor.

At 12, she joined bassist and songwriter John Pennell in a band that eventually became Union Station.  Not long after, she signed with Rounder Records and released her first album at 16.  That early run of music set the tone for everything that followed.

Her momentum kept building through the early nineties.  She won her first Grammy, landed songs on the charts, and became the youngest member of the Grand Ole Opry at the time.  She also teamed up with a long list of artists.  By the end of the decade she was a major voice in bluegrass with a growing national audience.
