Amazon Making 1-Day Shipping Standard

Its become pretty standard. If you have Amazon Prime you get the promise of free two-day shipping. There is no question that has been very attractive for subscribers. Walmart has been trying to close the gap by offer free 2 day shipping too. But now here comes Amazon with a bigger, better offer...1 day shipping...standard for prime customers!

Amazon announced that it plans to invest $800 million toward making one-day shipping the standard offering of Prime a reality. According to comments made from Amazons CFO to CNN.com:

“Our goal is to evolve the two-day free shipping program into the one-day free shipping program, and we’re making strides on that...we feel like we are doing something very important for the customer.”

There was no exact date mentioned but they did stress that the plan is to make it happen within the next year.
