According to a Facebook event made by Augusta Elks #964, the Augusta Elks has teamed up with the American Red Cross again to host a blood drive. The need for blood donors is higher than it has ever been.

The blood drive will occur at the Augusta Elks Lodge, located at 397 Civic Center Drive in Augusta, on Monday, March 8th, and run from 1 pm to 6 pm. As a way to ensure all volunteers and donors stay safe, the Red Cross asks that you pre-register for your appointment vs. walk-ins.

The pre-scheduled appointments will help manage the number of donors at one time as well as keeping them socially distant. Both staff and donors will be required to wear face coverings or masks and have their temperatures checked before entering.

Click HERE to pre-register for this event; you can do so by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS, visit RedCrossBlood.org, or thru the Red Cross Donor App. Text "BLOODAPP" to 90999 to download the free app. Donating blood takes on average 1 hour of your day but could potentially give someone in need another shot at life.
