Over the last decade, we have seen some major improvements come to downtown Augusta.

In the time that I have lived here (since summer 2016), I have seen empty storefronts along Water Street become restaurants, bars, and cool shops.  We now even have a radio station located on Water Street.

One of the major catalysts of this change has been the Augusta Downtown Alliance.

In recent years, the organization has aided the development of downtown in several ways, including pairing businesses with available rentals and organizing events centered on downtown Augusta.

One of the most recent, and most popular, is the Kickoff to Fall Fair

The Kickoff to Fall Fair in Augusta, Maine

The brainchild of former Augusta Downtown Alliance executive Director Michael Hall, the event first took over Mill Park in September of 2023.

Since then, we have seen current executive director Jeremy Ashlock and his team make further improvements to the event.

This year, the Kickoff to Fall Fair will return to Augusta's Mill Park September 5th through September 7th.

There'll be a midway filled with rides and games provided by Cushing Amusements.  Plus, there'll be all kinds of great fair foods available.  Candy apples, cotton candy,

As of early July, they are still looking for vendors.  You can reach out to the Augusta Downtown Alliance if you have an interest in being a part of this growing Augusta event.

The easiest way to get updates about the event is through the Kickoff to Fall Fair event page on Facebook.
