Augusta Skate Park Getting $150,000 Expansion
It was last summer that a local Augusta skateboarder named Christopher Thompson passed away in a terrible car accident at the tender age of 19.
People that knew Chris knew that he was a talented artist and would help anyone if he could. He also loved skateboarding and could often be found at the Augusta skate park.
According to WABI news after Chris died friends and families alike were scrambling to do something in Chris's honor. Due to Christophers love for skateboarding and helping others, a fundraiser was started to expand and upgrade the current Augusta skate park by 2200 square feet with several additions aimed at new and older skaters.
In just one year people came together and offered support to the tune of $150,000!
The expansion of the Augusta skate park is due to begin soon with a completion time of summers end 2021.
