Picturesque Maine Town Named One of the Places You Must Visit in July 2026
We are lucky to live in a country that has so much beauty and so many great vacation spots.
Here in the United States, we have everything from lush forests, to rolling hills, majestic mountains, and sandy beaches.
While you can find amazing vacation spots nearly anywhere in the country, millions of people flock to New England for vacation each year. Because of this, it never really surprises us that towns in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts often end up on lists of places you need to visit.
For example, the Global Grasshopper website recently published a list of spots that you need to visit in July of 2026. One of the top places on that list was Bar Harbor, Maine.
What Makes Bar Harbor So Special?
The author of the article explained that she made the four-hour drive from Boston to Bar Harbor four a five-day long visit.
She explained that July basically turns Bar Harbor into a postcard that learned how to breathe. Warm, sunny days. Just enough breeze to remind you you’re on the coast.
July is also peak whale-watching season, too. Add in the Fourth of July celebrations and the free Seaside Cinema movie nights, and the whole town hums with summer energy.
Additionally, she reference the bike rides on the shady Carriage Roads in Acadia National Park. Whale spotting in Frenchman Bay. And dinners outside along the waterfront, watching boats drift by and pretending time had called in sick.
You can learn more about all that Bar Harbor has to offer on the Visit Bar Harbor website.
