16 of the Best Day Cruises You Can Take in Maine

One of the reasons we all love living in Maine (and why so many people love visiting Maine) is that the state offers so many recreational activities.

Of course, the state has great towns and cities filled with amazing shops and cool restaurants.  You could spend a week hopping from town to town, but the state offers so much more.

In addition to all of the cool small towns to explore, we have amusement parks, breweries, hiking, camping, ATVing, and boating.

Boating in Maine is not limited to small power boats and canoes, either.  In many of Maine's tourist towns, you'll find cruise lines that take people out on scenic day cruises.

Sometimes, these cruises are purely for sightseeing, but many are geared toward a particular activity; a romantic sunset cruise, a peaceful trip on a sailing schooner, a trip to watch the whales or seals, or a themed party cruise.

Because we were hoping you could get the most out of your summer in Maine, we've created a list of some of the best day cruises in the state.  We've also included select evening cruises.
