Bloodhounds are the only animal whose evidence is admissible in a court of law. This amazing dog has 230 million scent receptors making it a tracking machine.  One of the most famous bloodhounds was from Kentucky, Nick Carter.

His ability to pick up a cold trail and follow it led to the capture and conviction of more than 600 criminals in his career. He was also used to find missing persons. One of his most incredible captures was picking up a cold trail, 104 hours old, and following it to the arrest of a fugitive.

The bloodhound is so adept at picking up scents and tracking them along with its ability to read terrain, the results are admissible in court. When a bloodhound sniffs a piece of clothing or an item touched by the subject, the odor image in far more detailed than that of a photo in for a human. The dog will track until it finds the source of the scent. Bloodhounds have been known to track for more than 130 miles in order to find the scent they are looking for.
