Fatal Crash On Augusta's Route 3 Claims One Life

Earlier today, we told you that were was a serious crash on Route 3 in Augusta and that you should avoid the area. We now have more details about the incident.

According to a press release from Chief Lully, of the Augusta Police Department, the Augusta Police Department and Maine State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that happened Thursday morning in Augusta.

Police responded to the area of Route 3 and West River Road at approximately 5:53 AM for a report of a crash involving two vehicles.

According to police, a 2024 Kenworth T880 commercial vehicle was being driven by 29-year-old Christopher Armstrong of Washington.

The second vehicle, a 2004 Toyota Camry, was driven by 29-year-old Cameron Lafleche of Winslow.

Lafleche was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Maine State Police are conducting a crash reconstruction as the investigation continues. Police have not released additional details about what led to the crash.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Augusta Police Department.
