Community Shows Support To Maine Deputy After House Fire
When someone loses a house to fire, you can't help but have your heart go out to them and the loss.
Less than a week ago that is what happened to a Deputy and his family who just recently took a position with the Knox County Sheriffs Office out on North Haven Island.
Deputy Josh Lemoi was attending the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro, he was actually in the last few weeks of his certification when he was pulled aside and passed the information that the house he was living at with his family burned down in a fire on December 8th.
According to a report by the Village Soup, the house is provided to the deputy who works the North Haven Island detail. Sadly, the deputy lose all his personal possessions, as well as two dogs in the blaze, luckily no persons where injured.
As a testament to the people of Maine, the residents of North Haven Island, the law enforcement community, and also the general good hearted people came together and created a GoFundMe account which in a few days and almost a 1000 donors has reach over $103,000 to help the deputy and his family rebuild.
Truly a tragedy that has exposed the goodness of the hearts of so many right here in our part of the world.
And that is our reason to smile today!
