Today kicks off our second annual Camp Out Hunger food drive in hopes of knocking out hunger here in Central Maine. Buzz and I are set up in the Sam's Club parking lot in Augusta, collecting food and monetary donations to support the Capital Region Salvation Army and many other local food banks.

This morning, we woke up to SNOW, yes, SNOW. Now, it's Maine, and we know snow happens all-time in November. I was born and raised right here in Central Maine, but I am usually not your girl if it's a cold-weather activity. Cold weather and I don't mesh well together, but there was absolutely no way I would count myself out of this event because it will be cold. I knew I just needed to make sure I was fully prepared.

First things first, I had no idea what I would need for this amazing but cold event. So, thankfully I have an amazing husband who made me a list. His top suggestions were wool socks, a winter jacket, a beanie, gloves, body warmers, and a nice pair of warm winter boots. I took every single suggestion of his, and in the end, I only added one necessity. And, that was a heated blanket!

We might be cold, but seriously I would do it, again and again, every single day of my life if it meant we could end hunger.  Don't forget to stop by and make a donation of either food or money. We will be here round the clock until Saturday the 7th, but we need your help because, in the end, we couldn't do it without you!
