The Maine State Fire Marshal's Office is looking for the public's helpp in locating the person or people who are responsible for setting a blaze at a home in Ellsworth.

According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety's Shannon Moss, Ellsworth firefighters were called to a structure fire Wednesday evening.

Crews responded to 384 Water Street around 5:50 PM and found a vacant single family home with minor fire damage. Fortunately, no one was injured in the blaze

The State Fire Marshal’s Office was brought in to determine what caused the fire, and investigators are now classifying it as incendiary.

Officials are asking anyone in the area with security or surveillance cameras to take a look at their footage and report anything that might help.  If you have information, you’re asked to call the State Fire Marshal’s Office at 207.624.7076 or the Ellsworth Police Department at 207.677.2168.

Investigators have not really given many details about how they believe the fire may have started.  Of course, as the investigation is currently ongoing, we are hoping that they will release more details in the next few days.
