I know what you're thinking, "Lizzy, why in the Hello Kitty would you want to bring up a topic surround by smelling things?" Well, guess what, smelling is fun. Sometimes in order to add levity into our mundane day to day things, we have to break it up with some smelly fun.

I love smelling. Honestly. I smell new shoes, books, my armpits, everything. I am a smeller. We as humans use all 5 senses and smell is one of the very best and also very worst.

More often then not, an odor can transform you to a place or time where a memory is brought back to the fore front of your mind. It could be a pleasant memory, like for example, me.

I remember when I got my very first Barbie doll and I smelled the crap out of her hair, trust me, it had a scent. Now, when I give a Barbie as a gift, I grab that thing so fast and take a huge whiff and there it is, childhood and confusion. It blasts straight back to me.

If I had a candle, it would definitely be Barbie-Hair scented.

But sometimes smells can suck. For example, if you have a bad memory with mud. Like the time I fell flat on my face in front of all of my friends in the mud because I was wearing my first pair of heels in middle school and I couldn't walk. Now, mud brings me to a place of adolescent trauma.

We asked our listeners if their town were a candle and had a scent, what would it be? Well, we got some fantastic responses. I have created a gallery below of my top 10 favorite submissions from this Facebook post.

Happy smelling folks!
