An 18-year-old high school senior in South Carolina was told to take down his American Flag and a POW-MIA flag that he had displayed in the bed of his pickup truck.

The school officials claimed that any physical flags on their vehicles were a safety issue due to creating a visual distraction.

The high school senior, Peyton Robinson claims that a school administrator told him to removes the flags when he got home, and not come back to school with them. He adds that a school official removed the bolts that secured the flags to the truck, took the flags down, and placed them in the bed of the truck.

Robinson was angry and took to social media to post about the incident on his Facebook page. The community and other students protested the ruling by the school.

The school on Thursday has decided that Robinson and all students could keep the flag of their vehicles, as long as no driving hazard exists.
