Week 3 of college football had #1 Florida State with a bi-week and there were only two teams in the top twenty-five that played each other. There was a bit of an upset in that game and another upset in the top ten. Here we go:

#2 Oregon had no trouble with Wyoming even though Wyoming was 2-0 coming into the game. Heisman front runner Marcus Mariota accounted for 4 scores for the Ducks who have now scored more that 40+ point in 50 games, an FBS record.

#3 Alabama gave up the game’s first score against Southern Miss but bounced back quickly and won 52-12. The Golden Eagles have lost 25 of their last 27 games.

#4 Oklahoma beat Tennessee 34-10. The Sooners had two interceptions in the game, one that was run back 100 yards for a TD.

#6 Georgia was upset by #24 South Carolina. This was the only game were top 24 opponents faced each other. The Bull dogs, despite playing in South Carolina were favored by 6 points. The Gamecocks had a 3 point lead with 1:30 to go and converted of a 4th down to hold the ball and run out the clock.

The other upset in the top 10 was #9 USC falling to unranked Boston College 37-31. BC rushed for 452 yards against the Trojans defense with QB Tyler Murphy getting 191 of them

University of Maine was on the road this week taking on Bryant University and the 20th ranked Black Bears lost 13-10. The UMaine defense held Bryant’s rushing attack in check allowing only 29 yards on the day but they couldn't stop the passing attack. The Black Bears agave up 301 passing yards and the game winning touchdown on a 14 yard scoring pass with 2:04 remaining.
