Local KVCC Student Named Coca-Cola Academic Scholar
Congratulations are in order for local student, Adrian Hoyt who attends Kennebec Valley Community College. Adrian has been chosen as one of 50, 2021 Coca-Cola Academic Team Silver Scholars.
According to the Bangor Daily News, KVCC President Richard Hopper said:
"Adrian is remarkable for his commitment, engagement and drive. This award is not only a clear recognition of Adrian’s past actions, but of his future promise. I’m immensely proud that he has been recognized for this honor.”
This accomplishment will secure Adrian a $1250 scholarship as well as a commemorative medallion.
According to the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation website, the foundation is a joint effort between the Coca-Cola Company and the Coca-Cola Bottlers that began in 1986 to celebrate Coca-Colas centennial.
Together the foundation supports over 1400 college students each year with $3.4 million in scholarships given out.
College administrators make the nominations based on academic achievement, community service, leadership and other criteria.
