2020 was a year that most people would never forget, even though most of us want to. It was a year of quarantine, mandatory masks, and no live events.

The good news, 2021 is the year that the world can gather with friends and family, ditch the masks (for those who choose to do so), and probably the best of all, we can attend live events again.  Yes, festivals, concerts, and parades are back!  That means we can now celebrate a very special birthday!

Even before the ball drop rang in 2020, many towns and cities around Maine had been planning celebrations to commemorate the 200th birthday for the State of Maine.

Clearly, due to the pandemic, those celebrations had to be put on hold.  The good news is, now that the world is returning to normal, we'll be able to celebrate Maine's birthday this summer.

And, even though the state is technically 201 years old, we are going to celebrate like she's 200!

According to News Center Maine, the Maine Bicentennial Parade has been rescheduled and will occur on August 21st, 2021. The parade will start at 10 am make its way thru downtown Lewiston and Auburn
