For nearly a decade, Scrummy Afters was the go-to candy shop in Central Maine.  Beginning in 2012, their small storefront, located on Water Street in Hallowell, was packed with candy.  The unique shop featured everything from the very common (peanut butter cups) to the really rare (sweets from around the world).

Then, in 2020, at the height of the pandemic, they made the decision to close their Water Street storefront.

But, that was not the end of the Scrummy Afters story.  In 2018, they had unveiled a mobile candy shop that they had intended to use for fairs and festivals.  Following the closing of their brick & mortar store in Hallowell, that is exactly what they did.  They continued to offer online ordering and also used the mobile store.

Now, it appears the business is for sale!

According to a post on their Facebook page, the entire business is for sale.  It includes all the assets including the mobile store and a commercial kitchen.

The post says, in part:

Scrummy on Wheels (mobile unit), commercial kitchen and all associated Scrummy Afters Candy Shoppe assets (including one-of-a-kind custom designed furniture) is now for sale. This is a turn key, fully-branded business that has a large and loyal customer base with opportunity for even more growth.
Our family built this business nearly 10 years ago. It has brought much joy and fulfillment to our community, but we are embarking on a new chapter. We poured our hearts in all that is ‘Scrummys’ so we would like to ensure that it’s passed to capable loving hands.

If you have ever wanted to explore your inner Willy Wonka, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.  Get all the details by calling 207.446.8829 or emailing scrummyafters@gmail.com
