"Thousands of Maine people lost their jobs during the pandemic, through no fault of their own. Now it is our goal to get them back to work."
The work search requirements have been relaxed due to the COVID-19 pandemic however with more job vacancies available, more businesses re-opening, and many service businesses having a difficult time finding employees, the Maine Department of Labor feels the time is now to ensure people are actively seeking employment.
The press release indicated that Maine CareerCenters and Maine jobLink are great resources to help people regain employment.
Also people who are currently receiving unemployment benefits may be able to go back to work part-time and still receive the $300 weekly stipend that congress has approved thru the summer.
