Maine High School Student Killed In Shooting

We're getting word of a tragic event in the coastal Maine town of Belfast.

According to a report on the WABI website, a Belfast Area High School student who was shot in Belfast on Thursday morning has died of his injuries.

The shooting reportedly happened at a Marsh Road, Belfast residence and it was called in at about 7 AM.

The teen, who has not been identified, was taken to Waldo County General Hospital then flown to a Bangor hospital where he died.

Police continue to investigate the incident.  Staff from the Belfast Area High School have made themselves available to students who will, no doubt, have a hard time processing this difficult incident.
