Maine Mariners Now Affiliated With Boston Bruins

The Maine Mariners have now announced a new affiliation....drum roll please, with the Boston Bruins! Since the Maine Mariners resurfaced in Portland back in 2018 they have been affiliated with the New York Rangers.

Of course as Mainers, we have been hoping and praying for this trifecta to come in. With the Portland Seadogs being the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, and then in 2019, the Maine Red Claws were picked up by the Boston Celtics and re-dubbed the Maine Celtics...all that was needed was the Mariners to make that final Boston connection. And now it has happened!

According to a press release from Mariners President Danny Briere:

“We are extremely excited to be affiliated with the Bruins organization and we’re proud to solidify the Boston-Portland connection with all three of Maine’s professional sports franchises. We know that Mariners fans will be thrilled to watch players from the Bruins organization playing right here in Maine.”

The 2021-2022 hockey season for the Maine Mariners gets underway at the Cross Insurance Center in Portland against the Worchester Railers on October 22nd.
