Few things that have ever graced a McDonalds menu have the cult following of one particular sandwich. Yes, I'm talking about...the McRib!

We're talking' McRib patty, bun and sauce. Oh, and don't forget the slivered onion and pickles. First introduced to the McD's menu in 1981, then removed from the menu in 1985 due to poor sales.

Since then every few odd years the McRib reappears on the menu for a short time. Often it is only available in select areas. Some are so fanatical about the McRib that there is even a website devoted to the sandwich, and locating it where ever it may be called McRibgate.com

Now I don't know the particulars but McDonalds tweeted that the McRib is making a come back...nationwide! That's something that hasn't happened since 2012.

There you have it...straight from the Mc D! December 2nd is the day. And the most important tweet...

According to an article by BusinessInsider, McDonalds VP, Linda VanGosen said:

"The McRib has been a beloved menu item at McDonald's since its inception nearly 40 years ago, there's nothing quite like the taste of the McRib. To our customers, it's become more than a delicious, saucy moment… it's a season, and it's taking the internet by storm. That's why this year, we're proud to serve the McRib nationwide for everyone to enjoy."

It's truly been a long wait...for us here in Maine it has been since 2012. Sure it's been released here and there a few times since then but never in Maine, always somewhere else to far to drive. But now...get ready...December 2nd is just a few days away.

What can I say I love the McRib, I don't know why, but I do and I'm looking forward to the reunion.
