Expect Extended Detour Along Route 32 In Waldoboro
If you are in the capital area and thinking about taking a drive down to the Mid-coast for maybe some of that coastal flavor you’ve been craving all year. Or if you are already in the Mid-coast, and ready to do some serious shopping in the big city of Augusta, you will want to know about the detour on Route 32 that has shut dow a portion of this very popular road down for the past few weeks, and several more weeks to go.
The project on the Wagner Bridge in Waldoboro has caused a detour that takes you along lovely side roads but makes your journey much longer. And slightly convoluted. The project has already been delayed by 4 weeks and according to Hagar Enterprises, Inc.’s Facebook page, the company that is doing the actual road construction work to repair the bridge said it will not be completed until the end of November.
Keep in mind this delay is not because anyone did something wrong, but because apparently the soil was way softer than anticipated. This means more excavation and more work, but in the end it will be completed safely and the right way, and we can all appreciate that. Safe travels.
