Everything You Need To Know About the Legacy Ball in Augusta, Maine
As the father of three, I can only imagine how awful it must be to have one of your children facing life-threatening illness.
Sadly, this is exactly what happened to Rowen's family in 2024. For 9 months, Rowen fought hard, but tragically passed away in March of 2025.
One of the ways that Rowen's family coped with their loss was to create Rowen's Legacy, an organization dedicated to helping those who went through the same thing their child did.
About Rowen
Rowen was a bright, happy, and healthy 4-year-old until everything changed in June 2024, when he was suddenly diagnosed with medulloblastoma. Our family began treatment at Boston Children’s Hospital, our best chance for remission and the nearest proton beam center. As a family of seven, we faced major challenges finding housing, spending more than 12 weeks in a hotel due to long waitlists and occupancy limits. The financial and emotional strain was immense, and we even sold our home in Maine to keep going.
Through it all, Rowen met every obstacle with a smile. He bravely completed six weeks of proton radiation and five rounds of chemotherapy, showing strength far beyond his years. In March 2025, Rowen passed away unexpectedly from treatment-related complications.
From that heartbreak, Rowen’s Legacy was created, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families facing childhood cancer.
What is Rowen's Legacy?
Rowen’s Legacy was created in honor of our brave son, Rowen, who passed away at just four after battling brain cancer. His strength and spirit now inspire our mission to support families facing childhood cancer. We provide help with housing near treatment, meals, groceries, and monthly bills so parents can focus on their child. Rowen’s light lives on through every family we help—because no one should face this fight alone.
The Legacy Ball
This gala event will take over the Governor Hill Mansion on Saturday, June 6th. There'll be a silent auction, hot appetizers, and a cash bar. Plus, guest speakers and music.
