These days most of us at least occasionally shop online.

When you consider the variety of products available from platforms like Amazon and Walmart.com, it just makes sense.  Personally, I have found the option is convenient for something that I don't need immediately, but want within a few days.  It allows me to order the item and not have to mess around with driving to a nearby store to get it.

When it comes to shopping online with some companies, however, you want to be aware that buying too many of any particular item could raise a red flag and get you banned.

This Little Known Rule at Target May Get You Banned

Recently, I stumbled across a viral video where a woman named Jenna Katz complained that she had been banned from shopping at Target.com because she had been flagged as a 'reseller'.

What is a 'reseller'?  Basically, it is a person or organization that purchases items from an online retailer (often taking advantage of discounts) and then turns around to resell the items for a profit..

While it is not illegal, many companies frown on or forbid the practice.

You can find the specific rules about resellers HERE.

Now, according to Katz, she rarely shopped online through target and only wanted to buy one pair of shoes.  According to her, she was not trying to purchase large quantities of items.  She just wanted the one pair of shoes.

So, it stands to reason that her being banned for being a reseller was most likely a mistake caused by a glitch in their system.  However, the incident should serve as a reminder that, if you frequently buy a lot of stuff from online retailers, there is a chance you could end up being banned because the system flags you as a reseller.

You can read more about Jenna Katz's story from the Mary Sue website.
