Those weren't just the eggs scrambling this past Saturday morning.

According to the United States Geological Survey, a small earthquake registering 2.1 on the Richter Scale  and at a depth of 10.8 km was recorded this past Saturday, April 11th, at around 6:35 in the morning.  It's epicenter was approximately 2 miles northwest of Winterport.

Numerous Mainers made comment about the small quake at VolcanoDiscovery.com, including someone from Winterport who said this, "I felt a rumble and then a very loud explosion. I thought the propane running our generator blew up. It woke my coworker and she thought a big tree fell on the house."

At this point, no damage has been reported.
