Maine Horse-Drawn Wagon Versus Truck Collision Injures Man & Horse
A man and a horse were injured in an early Friday morning crash in the Aroostook County town of Sherman.
A press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety's Shannon Moss explains that, at just before 8 AM, a Toyota pickup tried to pass a horse-drawn wagon that was moving in the same direction.
The driver, Lyndsay Duffy-Stanley of Benedicta, told police she did not have enough room to make the pass safely. The truck hit the wagon.
The force of the crash through the man operating the wagon was thrown into the road. He was taken to Houlton Regional Hospital with injuries that are not considered life threatening.
The horse suffered a cut to its leg and foot.
The wagon was destroyed.
Troopers say the driver of the pickup of the truck was not injured in the crash. She has been cited for driving to endanger.
After all of the fatal crashes that we have seen happen in Maine this year, we are glad that no one was seriously injured in the crash.
