The annual Special Olympics Summer Games will be held on Thursday, May 2nd at Spruce Mountain High School in Jay. More than 200 developmentally disabled children and adults from all throughout Western Maine are expected to participate.Some of the events include track and field and softball throws, it's part of two-dozen events that are planned.

The event is sponsored by the Franklin County Special Olympics Committee and the Jay AMVETS Post 33. Students from the University of Maine at Farmington will also be volunteering at the event.

It all starts at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, May 2nd. The public is welcome to attend.
