We are all looking for ways to get in shape and one of the easiest things you can do to start your way to fitness is WALK.

Doctors will tell you that. Physical activity is a vital part of losing weight. And here is one way you can "Step up to the plate"!

We had recently bought a treadmill from Chad's mom and on the screen it has the 10,000 Steps Program. I was wondering what it was and when I got my Women's Health Magazine in the mail there was an article in it that helped explain it.

Harley Pasternak is a trainer to the stars and he wants you to walk 10,000 steps to a healthier you!

Studies have shown that extremely obese people walk less than 2,500 steps a day! To stay on the right track to health, you need to walk at least 10,000 steps a day. And you can start anytime. You don't need any equipment, just YOU! And a pedometer. They cost, maybe, $10.

You can start with something as simple as walking to the mailbox and back. While that sounds easy, it's actually difficult for some people to do. My mailbox is 40 yards from my home and I decided to sprint it one day. I was out of breath after only 80 yards. Luckily, I can do it no problem now. Now I jog our road and back which is 1.4 miles round trip. Work your way up to it!

I have known one lady for almost 15 years now and when I asked her how she stayed so slim she simply stated "Walking. I walk 6 miles every day." She did it after she came home from work and tried to eat right.

The 10,000 steps programs is the easiest program you can have. All it requires is walking in a good pair of sneakers. Walking cuts down your chances of heart disease and increases bone density in your legs because you build up muscles.
