The Dutch are Tops in Speed Skating in the World
I was watching the Winter Olympics from Sochi, Russia this weekend, the men and women’s speed skating events. One thing that really stood out was the team from the Netherlands. The Dutch men swept the 5,000 meter event winning gold, silver and bronze. In the women’s 3,000 meter event went to Irene Wurst from the Netherlands who won gold.
Even more amazing for the Dutch team is the fact that in Olympic history as these games began, the Dutch have won 90 medals, 86 of the have been in speed skating.
