The Transportation Security Administration has updated its guidelines regarding CBD and air travel. They have now clarified that medications that contain CBD are legal to fly with nationally for the most part as there as still some exceptions.

The update means that FDA-approved medications that contain CBD are now allowed  in both carry-on and checked luggage. The CBD must adhere to the regulations in the farm bill in order for you to legally fly with it.

Keep in mind this is only concerning CBD, it doesn't extend to medical marijuana in other forms. Unlike hemp, where CBD is derived from, marijuana remains federally illegal and you would still face prosecution if you attempt to travel with it.
