Two men from Bristol, Maine broke RAW American Powerlifting Federation Maine records at the Maine state championship in Westbrook. Sixty powerlifters competed at the event last weekend and two Maine men broke some state records.

Nick MacPhee bested the state record in the dead lift in the 198-pound division, MacPhee dead-lifted 700 pounds to beat his record by over 30 pounds.

Mark Zaccadelli had a huge event by breaking four state records in the 123-pound division.

Zaccadelli set the RAW APF state records with a 330 squat, dead lift of 400 , bench press of 270. He also broke the combined record of 1,000 pounds.

Zaccadelli had only been training for six months and is friends with MacPhee. In fact, Mac Phee got Zaccadelli into powerlifting at a clinic at Resolution Fitness Center in Waldoboro.

Zaccadelli plans on competing in the fall at 132 pounds and has a goal to set the same state records in the 132 and 148 pound classes.
