Weather Alert: Parts of Maine Could See Up To 10″ of Snow on Tuesday
As we continue to see the climate change, we continue to see our New England winters change.
It was not that long ago that much of New England got its first real snow storm by the second week of November. As a kid, I remember that we frequently had snow on the ground by Thanksgiving.
That really is not the case anymore. These days, we don't normally see our first real snow until sometime just before Christmas.
So far, 2025's weather has proven this to be accurate.
Even though Western Maine and parts of Northern Maine have gotten snowfall over the last few weeks, the rest of the state has only seen flurries, squalls, or a slushy mess.
It looks like that may be about to change.
According to Weather.com, much of Maine will see its first real snowfall of the season on Tuesday. Even though Monday is expected to be a beautiful, sunny, day the clouds are expected to roll in on Monday evening and the snow will start on early Tuesday morning.
For Central Maine, we can expected as much as 8" of snow before the storm leaves our area on Tuesday evening.
The Portland area could see as much as 10" of snow and Northern Maine could see as much as 6" of fresh snow.
Surprisingly, Western Maine, where we often see the biggest snowfall totals, will only see 3" or 4" of accumulation.
Of course, as we are still a few days out from the storm, things could change. We will do our best to keep you posted on the changing forecast.
