Morning Buzz

I love learning about the human body. Science was never my thing in school but I've come to learn that it's a lot more interesting than I thought it was! Especially when it has to do with your brain! And this just blows my mind (sorry for the pun).

I'm always looking at the Adult Education flyers for ways to broaden my horizons. They have classes for fitness, computer knowledge and crafts. But this one caught my eye. AND raised my eyebrows.

Randy was on vacation this morning but he made sure to tell me to let him know who was going to be on this season of Dancing With the Stars! We LOVE this show! Here's the lineup:

Getting up so early in the morning it's still pitch black outside. When I go out to start my car I stop for a moment and look up at the sky. I LOVE seeing the Milky Way and all the stars. Living out in the country has its advantages. But this morning I saw something I was not too excited about.

Yes, you could go out and spend a bunch of money on your kids lunches for school. OR You could save money and feed them something that parents have known for generations is good for them.

For the last 20 years, Randy McCoy has read a poem on the air all about a little girl going to school for the very first time. The poem, 'I Trust You'll Treat Her Well', by Dan Valentine from the book "American Essays: Sentimental Classics Designed to Make the Heart Sing", has been around for nearly 60 years and each time Randy reads it, I cry. A lot.

Big day! BIG DAY!! I take every first day of school off for Anderson because it is the start of his new adventure! And, of course, this mama cried...a little.

General Mills has announced their monster cereals will be back for Halloween. Year round you can find monster cereals like ‘Frankenberry’,’ BooBerry’ and ‘Count Chocula’, but they are bringing back ‘Frute Brute’ and ‘Fruity Yummy Mummy’.

Japan won the Little League World Series for the second year in a row. They beat California 6-4 to win the title. It was Japan's defense that won the game as California stranded 13 runners. The play of the game for Japan came in the top of the 4th inning when California had bases loaded and nobody out.

Preseason football has one more week to go and then the NFL starts playing for real. While the preseason doesn’t mean much as far as wins and losses go (so everyone says) it does give an indication where your team is, going into the regular season

Casey Brooks is one lucky man, to say the least. Brooks and his wife were in Atlantic City and he was boogie boarding when he felt his wedding ring slip off his finger.
