A long term care facility in Augusta has reported a Covid-19 outbreak of 21 confirmed infections at Capitol City Manor on State Street in Augusta according to centralmaine.com. The Capitol City Manor maintains 29 beds at it facility on State Street, and operates 16 other facilities around the state under its parent company, DLTC Healthcare.

The outbreak investigation which began last month is still ongoing with 18 patient and 3 staff members being confirmed as positive for the Covid-19 virus.

According to the communications director for the Maine CDC, Robert Long, no deaths have been reported thus far in connection with this outbreak at Capitol City Manor.

Long did state that any inquires should be directed to Capitol City Manor and went on to say according to the report by centralmaine.com that:

"In general, when there is an outbreak at a congregate living setting, staff and residents are tested at regular intervals, heightened infectious disease control measures are put in place, and Maine CDC’s epidemiology team confers with the facility’s administration to provide support and to help meet other identified needs."

The Maine CDC did acknowledge that testing is ongoing however no new positive tests have been noted in the past week at the facility.
