If you are familiar with NAMI Maine then you are already aware of the amazing services they provide. NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness. They provide a eries of different mental health and counseling services, something that has become increasingly important during the pandemic.
Something that you may not be aware of is that NAMI Maine also provides free training for people with a focus on mental health support.
Currently, NAMI Maine has several upcoming trainings in the next month that you can get involved with:
January 28th - Virtual Youth Mental Health First Aid
"NAMI Maine is excited to be able to offer this Virtual Youth Mental Health First Aid to community members in partnership with the Masonic Charitable Foundation. Youth Mental Health First Aid is a national best-practice, evidenced-based certification course that is 7 hours in length, 2 hours of self-paced learning and 5 hours of instructor lead material over zoom. Youth Mental Health First Aid leads to a 3 year certification issued by the National Council on Behavioral Health"
February 7th - NAMI Family-to-Family Course
"NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-week education program for the family and friends of someone who is living with a mental health condition"
February 8th – Virtual Adult Mental Health First Aid
"NAMI Maine is excited to be able to offer this Virtual Mental Health First Aid course, it is a national best-practice, evidenced-based certification course that is 8 hours in length and leads to a 3 year certification issued by the National Council on Behavioral Health. Virtual Mental Health First Aid leads to the same certification. However, the training consists of 2 hours of self-guided pre-coursework, completed online, followed by a 5-6 hour Zoom group training"
