
Manager of Small Maine Town Arrested in Domestic Violence Charges
The manager of a small Aroostook County town is facing several charges after an alleged domestic violence incident.
According to an article on WGME's website, 27-year-old Cameron Clark, Houlton's town manager, was arrested on Thursday on charges connected to an alleged domestic assault.
He was reportedly taken into custody shortly after meeting with Governor Janet Mills, who happened to be visiting town at the time. Officials say the two events were not related.
Clark, who lives in New Limerick, was arrested by the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office on charges of domestic violence assault and tampering with a witness. According to Aroostook County Jail Commander Lawrence Goff, the tampering charge is considered a felony in Maine. It is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
The assault charge is a misdemeanor.

Sheriff Peter Johnson said that on Monday, September 22, his office received a report of an alleged domestic violence assault that had taken place 10 days earlier.
