Last weekend, I came across something which seems like it's a disturbing trend. If once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three is most certainly a trend. When did it become socially acceptable for guys to sit in the passenger seat, scrolling FB or Snapping, while the lady in their life pumps the gas?

Listen, I fully understand this runs the risk of dating myself, and fuels many thoughts that I'm already halfway to curmudgeonville. It's why I haven't written this piece until today. There's just something about it that doesn't sit well with me. Maybe it's the scenery, usually a young guy with an over sized baseball tilted to side. Some hats even scream "I make poor life decisions" by displaying semi controversial icons front a center. Not passing judgement here, but a little subtly goes a long way. I like Cheese Itz, but it's not I'm going to wear...

Well look who I found...

Oh, wait. Okay, poor argument. I don't know. Maybe it's the perceived laziness of it all. It's not about being chivalrous all the time, but a little initiative couldn't hurt over there. In each case, the lady doesn't look particularly pleased to be performing the task. You already look like a buffoon with your face buried in the phone, and this real life "C'mon, man" ship can easily be righted with a little elbow grease.
