I had the pleasure of spending my extended Memorial Day weekend adventures with the 3 most important people in my life, My sweet husband and both of my kids.

Friday was such a gorgeous day that we wanted to make sure we got to squeeze out every bit of nice weather that we could. After work for us adults, and virtual school for the kids, we loaded up my van and headed out for a nice cool treat from the Ice Cream Shoppe in Randolph. If you've never been there you seriously should give it a try, they have super sized servings and a gorgeous view of the Kennebec river.

We started our Saturday off with a celebration parade for a local hero by the name of Joe Linscott, as a way to celebrate his induction into the Babe Ruth Hall of Fame. 86 year old Joe is well known in our community for his love of baseball and his involvement with the Capital Area Babe Ruth League. Over the past 45 years you would often find Joe maintaining ball fields and he even helped build several local baseball fields. Unfortunately due to health reasons he is no longer able to fill that role, but after all he has done there is no one more deserving of that award then Joe! We had a great turn out for parade participants wanting to show Joe some love, but his smile is what told me that as a community we pulled off a very successful celebration.

What a day! Special thanks and appreciation to Dave Dostie DostiePhoto for capturing this special and deserving recognition of Joe’s induction into the Maine Babe Ruth HOF! Please enjoy Dave’s album. Posted by Capital Area Babe Ruth League on Saturday, May 23, 2020

Sunday was "date day" for Stephen and I, but how do I compete with heavy equipment? I don't!  So it turned out to be a day of me time, which brings no complaints from me because it allowed me time to recharge. I'm the type that needs recharging so I can give others the best of me and not whats left of me. Stephen also needed to refill his cup, and he accomplished that by spending any free time he had working around the yard.
