Maine, New Hampshire, & Massachusetts Could See Scorching Summer

Hopefully, you are a fan of warmer weather.  If not, you are going to have a really rough summer.  Why?  Because meteorologists at the National Weather Service are predicting that we could see a much warmer than normal summer for most of the country, including Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and the rest of the New England states.

According to WGME, the National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center is calling for us to have above normal temperatures for June, July, and August.  While it is not guaranteed that the heat will be turned up on us this summer, they are currently calling for about a 70% chance that the Northeast will see above average temperatures.

How much higher than normal can we expect the temperatures to be?  Unfortunately, they are not giving us an estimate on that.

As for precipitation, the National Weather Service meteorologists are reporting there are equal chances that we could see an above average summer for rain or a below average summer for rain.

Regardless of whether or not we see those hot temperatures this summer, we can all be hoping that we get an above average amount of rain.  The last few years have been dry and we really need that water for our ecosystem.  Much of the State of Maine has been under drought conditions for the last few years.
