Maine State Trooper Hits Moose On I-95

According to a post on the Maine State Police Facebook page, Trooper Castonguay was responding to a call near Island Falls when he struck a moose standing in the middle of Interstate 95.

Fortunately, he avoided being seriously injured.

The Maine State Police warn people that, as the weather gets warmer, many animals (including moose) are becoming more active.  Drivers should use extra caution, and be extra attentive, when traveling on the interstate and out-of-town roads.
