The Perseid Meteor Shower is occurring this month and conditions this month are expected to produce a spectacular result.

What we see with the Perseid Meteor shower is the Earth moving through the trail of dust and debris from the Comet Swift-Tuttle. This year the Earth is moving through a very dense trail of dust and debris from the comet, meaning the frequency of the light show could reach epic levels!

The peak viewing will be on August 11th and 12th.

Look into the night sky towards the northeast.  If you want to watch during the peak, plan on staying up from the evening of Aug. 11 to the morning of Aug. 12. That’s when show should be at its best.
