One of my favorite stops in Rockland is the Farnsworth Art Museum. I know I don't look very cultured but I certainly do have an appreciation for fine art and especially painting from father & son, N.C. Wyeth and Jamie Wyeth, as well as Andrew Wyeth. I even have several Wyeth prints in my house.

Many of the Wyeth family paintings are inspired by Maine life, especially along the rugged, rocky coast of Maine and the lives of the rural people that call that coast home.

According to an article by the Bangor Daily News, the Farnsworth Art Museum will soon be home to several new additions, over 24 in fact, Andrew Wyeth paintings thanks to a donation from Betsy Wyeth, who is the late wife of Andrew Wyeth.

The new exhibition, which will be titled “Betsy’s Gift: The Works of N.C., Andrew, and Jamie Wyeth.” will be on display beginning May 15th.

So if you haven't been to the Farnsworth in awhile, or perhaps you have never been, this would be a great time to visit and get acquainted or reacquainted with the Wyeth family legacy that is known the world over.
