Maine State Police Identify Murder Victim
We finally have additional details about the incident that the Maine State Police were investigating in Corinth on Sunday morning.
According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety's Shannon Moss, early on Sunday morning members of the Maine State Police responded to a report of gunshots at a residence on Main Street in Corinth, Maine.
When Troopers arrived at the scene, they found an adult man outside of the residence who had been seriously wounded. Troopers immediately began life saving measures until medical crews could take over. The man was then flown by LifeFlight to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Troopers also entered an apartment close to the scene that was believed to be connected to the incident. Inside that apartment, they discovered the body of a man who had already passed away. Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit North and the Evidence Response Team responded to begin a full investigation into what had happened.
The deceased man was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta. On Monday, September 22, 2025, an autopsy identified him as 46-year-old Scott Roberts of Glenburn. His death was determined to be a homicide caused by a gunshot wound.
The identity of the injured man has not yet been released.
At this point, no arrests have been made. Investigators believe this was an isolated incident, and that there is no ongoing threat to the community. The case remains active, and more updates will be shared as new details come forward.
