Recent studies by the University of Exeter in England suggest that living near the ocean may be good for your health.  Lori Fleming says studies show spending time at the ocean has positive effects on your health and well-being, which has been the thought for many years, but now studies seem to confirm the theory.

As early as the 18th century, doctors were prescribing visits to the beach to special clinics called ‘bathing hospitals’ that offered saltwater baths. In one study people were shown pictures of hotels that had an ocean view and an overwhelming number said they would be willing to pay more for the room so they could look at the ocean. The number of people whose health that would truly benefit from being near the ocean is unknown, but it does seem the closer people get to the sea the better they start to feel.
