
Maine State Police Identify Man Killed in Tuesday Night Altercation
According to a press release from Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss, one man is dead and another was injured following an altercation Tuesday night in Standish.
Deputies were called to a home on Kennie Drive in Standish just after 9:30 PM for a report of a fight. When they arrived, they found one adult man dead inside the residence.
A second adult man was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are described as non-life-threatening.
The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit South quickly took over the investigation. The man who died was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta where an autopsy was performed to determine the cause and manner of death.
That man has been identified as 23-year-old Thomas Foster, of Porter. The cause of death has been determined to be a gunshot wound and the manner of death was homicide.
Authorities say there is no danger to the public. The investigation remains ongoing, and more information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
