Waterville, Maine, Man Charged With Murder
According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, a Waterville man has been arrested and charged with murder.
The press release explains that law enforcement was called to a residence at 119 Cool Street in Waterville for the report of a suspicious death.
The body of an adult male who reportedly lived at the residence was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta. An autopsy was performed on the body on Monday morning. The autopsy determined the man had died of "sharp force injuries", and that the manner of death was homicide.
The press release goes on to explain that:
On August 18th, Thomas Lowrie (41) of Waterville was arrested by State Police detectives and charged with murder. On August 19th at 1:00 pm, Thomas Lowrie made his initial appearance for the charge of murder at the Capital Judicial Center in Augusta.
At this time, the identity of the victim is being withheld pending additional DNA testing and notification of next of kin.
