These days, when it comes to smartphones and accessories, nearly everyone is either Team Android or Team Apple.

When was the last time you heard someone bragging about their new Blackberry?

If you are on Team Apple, the tech giant may owe you money.  And, it is all because of a class action lawsuit.

Swelling Apple Watch Batteries

According to an article on the CNET website, a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California alleged that the batteries in Series 1, Series 2, and Series 3 Apple Watches were prone to swelling.

That swelling could, in some cases, cause pressure within the watch that made the screen pop out and damage components.

Instead of taking the case to trial, Apple agreed to a $20 million settlement.  Some of that money may be coming your way.

To qualify for a portion of the money you need to have owned a Series 1, Series 2, or Series 3 Apple Watch.  That watch must have had a battery swelling issue and you need to have reported that issue between April 24, 2015, and Feb. 6, 2024.

How much money can you expect to get?  Not all that much!  Depending on how many people register for the lawsuit, you'll probably get between $20 and $50.

You can register to get your portion of the money at the Watch Settlement website.  The deadline for submitting is April 10th, 2025.
