The crash happened early Friday morning in Lewiston.

According to the KJ, a 21 year old man from Augusta is still in the hospital following an early Friday morning crash in Lewiston.

Reportedly, at about 3 AM on Friday, the man was riding his motorcycle outbound on Sabattus Street in Lewiston when he was reportedly clocked going 30 miles per hour over the posted limit by a deputy from the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department.

The deputy attempted to pull the man over, but he fled.  A short time later, near Pizza Hut, he lost control of his motorcycle, striking a pole.  He continued to slide and struck a second pole.

He was taken to CMMC and is reportedly in stable condition.  However, it does look like he will need to have surgery for a serious leg injury.

Police continue to investigate the incident.

The man's name was not released.
